April 29, 2012

The Hilltoppers had an absolutely AMAZING time at the world championships this weekend! We arrived in St. Louis on Wednesday night and tried to get a good night's sleep for the coming competition. We did well in practice matches on Thursday morning, sorting out the last bugs on the robot. Qualification matches on the Galileo field ran from Thursday afternoon to Saturday morning, and we ended up with a record of 7-2. In the eliminations selection, we were picked by FIRST Team 48 Delphi E.L.I.T.E. along with FIRST Team 1323 Madtown Robotics.

Thanks to our Regional Chairman's Award win at Boilermaker, FIRST Team 1732 is off to St. Louis on Wednesday! We will be competing Thursday through Saturday in the Galileo division. Additionally, we present our Chairman's submission to judges on Friday and are in the running for the Championship Chairman's Award. After several significant robot improvements and hours of driver practice, we are confident our robot will do well in qualification matches and, hopefully, deep into the elimination rounds!

After exciting qualification matches, FIRST Team 1732 was ranked 6th at the Wisconsin Regional. We were captains of the 5th alliance and had a great run through to the semifinals with 1714 MORE Robotics and 1306 BadgerBOTS. Thank you to all of our sponsors, family, and friends who came out to see us compete! We're looking forward to St. Louis!

After a Thursday filled with robot modifications, testing, repairs and driver practice, we're ready for qualifications matches to start on Friday. If you are unable to make it to the regional, you can still cheer us on by watching the webcast here. Simply click on the link located on the left side of the page labeled "Wisconsin." We are scheduled for nine matches on Friday and three more on Saturday morning before alliance selection and elmination matches on Saturday afternoon.

For the first time in team history, we attended the Boilermaker Regional in Indiana this past weekend.  The team competed hard on and off the field and came away with some great results.  On the field, we finished the qualification rounds seeded 10th and were the first selection of the #8 seed, FIRST Team 4272, Maverick Boiler Robotics, and we were joined by FIRST Team 292, Panther Tech.  Although we faced a significantly stronger top seeded alliance, led by undefeated FIRST Team 829, The Digital Goats, our alliance pulled off an upset in two matches with a last-second triple balance in mat
